Southern Pacific Santa Fe Railway
On July 24th, 1986 the Interstate
Commerce Commission made the landmark decision to deny the proposed
Southern Pacific Santa Fe Railway merger.
This page is dedicated to one
of the greatest "what ifs" in railroad history. A reality
where railroads in America are drastically different than how
we know them to be today. A world where BNSF never exists, and
where Union Pacific is allowed to devour one less railroad.
